I feel very satisfied with this piece. It is by no means perfect but I feel very satisfied with it. While creating this piece, I knew that India needed to be my concentration. I have been very fascinated by this culture and how it is connected heavily into mine. I feel connected and I feel it is my job to tell a story with it. With this piece I thought about how in India there is a very large diverse population. Stereotypically people assume that just Hindu's live in India. Yes, it may be the most popular religion but there are also many Muslims, Buddhists, and Christians living in India to this day. I wanted to showcase that. Some things I could have changed with this piece is some of the line work. The lines on the Taj Mahal could be a tad more clean. I also could have added more shading to the clouds in the windows and lotus. The unclean finger painted lines in the mandala were intentional. |
