During this time period I was having trouble with ideas. My piece the previous week was not as successful as I wanted it to be and I wanted to redeem myself. So one day I started drawing the sun pattern. At the moment, I thought about someone touching the sky and how in other cultures, the sun is vital in every aspect of life. So I drew a girl wanting to be close to her sun god. This week I really focused on proportion and background. Proportion is very difficult if you don't know how to control it and I really wanted to improve my skills. I felt I did a great job on the angle of her body. I usually have a hard time with angles that are not centered and again, I wanted to really improve on that. So I did. I have been struggling with background this semester. I have been spending all my time on the tiniest of details yet I haven't seen the big picture. Every week I try to improve more and more and I think I am; slowly and surely. I could've worked on the sky portion but overall I feel it is one of my stronger pieces. |
