Medium: Watercolor and Pen
After my failure from last week I told myself that I was going to work harder so I can reach the goal that I wanted. As it turns out I did not reach success. I thought to myself, maybe I need a deeper concept to make it seem more sophisticated. So I made a deeper concept. I was inspired by the song, "Closer to the edge" by 30 seconds to Mars. The chords and lyrics in the song make you feel as if you can be free from all the trials and tribulations that are going on your life. So I literally decided to draw an "edge" as an explanation of what I felt Jared Leto was trying to say in the song. As it turns the concept was not really deep at all, again failing at my goal. Technicality wise, again, there are many things wrong with this piece. The colors of the sky and water are not distinguished and the female in the picture, again; looks as if a 5 year old drew it. There was no excuse for this piece. I messed up. Going into critique, was again, terrible. I felt even more mediocre because I had some experience with this class already and ready to learn from my mistakes. This will definitely go on my list of pieces that I am not so proud of but will look back and see my growth between now and then.
