Medium: Graphite Pencils
This piece was part of another down week for me. I had no genius ideas and decided to draw the first thing that came to my mind, which was a dreamcatcher. Being of Native South American decent, dreamcatchers mean a lot to any Native American culture. As I have stated in the past, different cultures really interest and I love to learn about people from different parts of the world. I think dreamcatchers have cool designs and having experience actually making them, I thought it would be cool to draw one. My classmates said it best, "this is a safe piece". They are absolutely right. I stuck to what I know and that is graphite pencil and black and grey. Shading is not a problem to me and lines are my strong suit. I like having lines even if they are not as thick. Black and grey is an easy medium to work with so I decided to stick with something that I know I can work at and have a pretty good piece. Fun fact: I watched Pocahontas the entire time I was drawing and shading out this piece. It is one of my favorite movies. I decided to watch it because it went with the theme and who doesn't like singing Disney songs?
